Leaked WhatsApp Message Sparks Fresh Debate Over APC Candidacy and INEC Recognition in Osun

PressHub Media Agency has obtained and reviewed a message currently circulating in a WhatsApp group allegedly linked to members of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, in which sensitive claims were made regarding party candidacy, INEC recognition, and internal political calculations ahead of future elections.

The message, which was shared openly in the group and sighted by our reporters, suggests that only Governor Ademola Oke has been formally recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission at both federal and state levels, while another individual identified as Clement was described as not being recognised by INEC based on current positions attributed to the electoral body.

The message further claims that a primary election involving Governor Ademola Oke was supervised by the INEC national body, and it advises party members to move on from internal disputes, warning that certain political aspirations may no longer materialise on the ballot.

The writer of the message urged members to focus their efforts on federal-level engagements, describing it as the most viable political instrument available at the moment.

It also contained assertions about public support within Osun State, claiming that Governor Ademola Oke allegedly enjoys overwhelming backing from a large percentage of the population, while the remaining support was said to be divided among other political interests.

In addition, the message touched on local government politics and internal party administration, suggesting that public perception of the party at the grassroots level has been affected by how its secretariat is being run.

The tone of the message indicates internal concern, strategic reassessment, and an appeal for realism among party members as political alignments continue to evolve in the state.

PressHub Media Agency reports that the authenticity of the claims made in the message has not yet been independently verified by official statements from INEC or the APC leadership in Osun State.

However, the circulation of such discussions in a party-linked group highlights the level of internal debate and tension as political actors position themselves ahead of future electoral activities.

As of the time of filing this report, neither INEC nor the individuals mentioned in the message have issued formal responses. PressHub Media Agency will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more verified information becomes available in the public space.
