PRESSHUB MEDIA AGENCY – BREAKING NEWS
Leaders of recognized youth organizations in Ifelodun Local Government, Osun State, have petitioned the National Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), calling for the nullification of the congress held on July 2, 2026, over what they describe as alleged constitutional violations.
According to the petition obtained by PRESSHUB MEDIA AGENCY, the youth groups alleged that the congress failed to comply with key provisions of the NYCN Constitution, including the requirement for the recognition of affiliated youth organizations through a General Congress before participation in elections.
The petition also questioned the eligibility of one of the aspirants, Comrade Olaleye Kehinde, alleging that he is above the constitutional age limit of 18 to 35 years prescribed for elective offices under the NYCN Constitution, and requested that the National Leadership verify his eligibility.
The petitioners further urged the National Leadership to suspend the implementation of the congress outcome, investigate the alleged irregularities, and conduct a fresh congress in accordance with the NYCN Constitution.
Copies of the petition were reportedly forwarded to the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, security agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
