BREAKING: Akinrun-in-Council Pays Royal Visit to Onijabe of Ijabe, Prays for Peace and Prosperity During His Reign
The Akinrun-in-Council on Friday, November 6, 2026, paid a historic and courtesy visit to the Onijabe of Ijabe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Tajudeen Abioye Ekanoye Akanni Ilufemiloye, Olukoye III, in a show of royal solidarity, respect and goodwill.
The Akinrun-in-Council arrived in a large group, with some of the chiefs offering prayers for the newly installed Onijabe of Ijabe. They prayed that his reign would bring peace, progress, unity and prosperity to the people of Ijabe, those living abroad and neighbouring communities.
During the visit, the chiefs also commended the monarch for his generosity, kindness and philanthropic contributions, expressing appreciation for his positive disposition towards the people and the traditional institution.
In his response, the Onijabe warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed sincere appreciation for the visit, describing the gesture as a demonstration of brotherhood, mutual respect and unity among traditional institutions.
The monarch also offered prayers for the repose of the soul of DIG Inspector General Lawal, praying that Almighty God grants him eternal rest. He further prayed for the Akinrun-in-Council, asking God to guide them and grant them the opportunity to witness similar blessings and celebrations in their own traditional institution.
As part of the memorable occasion, the visiting chiefs presented a framed gift to the Onijabe as a mark of honour and appreciation. The visit concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the royal engagement.
The visit further highlighted the importance of cooperation, respect and peaceful relationships among traditional rulers and their councils in promoting unity and development within their respective communities.
