Thousands of individuals, including residents and passersby, worked tirelessly to curtail the blaze, forming makeshift fire brigades using water and sand. Among them, a Hausa man selling noodles near the canteen was particularly commended for his quick response and assistance in the effort.
According to eyewitnesses, Brother Gani played a pivotal role by promptly alerting the fire department. However, their arrival at approximately 9:30 PM was met with disappointment, as their equipment failed to function effectively.
